  • Leaf blade small, glabrous both sides, nearly singly serrate
  • Samara small, glabrous, deeply notched at the tip
  • Trunk short, dividing into several large limbs; many dead branchlets and branches in crown
  • Orange-colored inner bark layers visible in fissures
