Key Characteristics

  • Many-stemmed, clonal shrub or small tree
  • Leaves compound, 11-31 leaflets, leaves pubescent on leaflet midrib and main veins beneath; petioles and rachis conspicuously pubescent, turning bright scarlet with shades of crimson, purple, and orange in autumn
  • Twigs stout, densely velvety-pubescent with long hairs
  • The dense cluster of fruits is erect - staghorn effect, and the hairs are long and narrow
