Key Characteristics
- Leaves with deltoid shape;. upper surface bright, shiny, yellowish green; coarsely toothed, teeth curved and gland tipped
- Buds long-pointed, 3-sided, resinous
- Vigorous shoots with corky linear ridges
- Twigs with large leaf scars and 3 conspicuous bundle scars
- Grows in river floodplains, often along stream banks; colonizes wet, disturbed sites
