Key Characteristics

  • Leaves dark green above, white-tomentose beneath, becoming glabrous; leaves at ends of long shoots in upper crown white-tomentose on undersurface, palmately 3-5 lobed
  • Petioles, new shoots, and buds downy-white with pubescence
  • Trunk crooked, with diamond-shaped pits in bark
