Key Characteristics

  • Leaf blades in sun very lustrous; glabrous; variously lobed (polymorphic)
  • Bark orange brown, orange inner layers visible in fissures
  • Fruit a multiple of drupes, usually white or pink
  • Crown bushy, with many slender, light orange twigs
  • Winter buds offset to one side above leaf scar
