Notes
Key Characteristics
- Leaves are large, alternative, simple, acuminate, entire, and pinnately veined
- Fruit is a large cluster of what look like pumpkin seeds, or a black peppery smelling "cucumber"
- Twigs are smooth, curvy, pale tan or green, and light with white silky naked buds, v-shaped leaf scars, and sparkly pith
- This large tree has bark similar to white oak but dark cinnamon colored underneath, generally found on flood plain sites

WE HAVE TWO CUCUMBER TREES IN OUR BACK YARD THAT I THINK IS AROUND 100 FT TALL. HOW BIG DO THEY GET? THERE IS ONE AND THERE ARE FOUR THAT GREW UP FROM ONE LARGE BASE. TRYED TO SEND A PICTURE BUT DID NOT WORK
