Notes

Key Characteristics

  • Upright to spreading shrub to 3 m high.
  • Bark light gray, somewhat exfoliating.
  • Leaves opposite, simple, blades 3-6 cm long, 2-4 cm wide; ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute to rarely obtuse; entire; dark green above paler beneath; glabrous; petiole 2-6 mm long.
  • Twigs slender, brown to reddish; pith brown, excavated between the nodes.
  • Winter buds oblong or ovoid; scales short-pointed, glabrous

  • Leaves spade-shaped, internodes fairly short
