Notes

Key Characteristics

  • Needles, sometimes needle shaped and sometimes scale shaped with two white bands of stomata on the upper surface
  • Bark is fibrous, forming long, narrow, shreddy, fragrant strips
  • This is an upright tree, unlike ground juniper
  • Fruit are globose cones, berrylike, dark blue, with a glaucus bloom
