Notes

Key Characteristics

  • Needles of only one type, pointy, awl shaped with one band of stomata on top
  • This low shrub is very fire sensitive, so supression regimes allow them to proliferate
  • Fruit is a small cone, berrylike, dark blue, with a glaucus bloom
  • Found on dry calcareous soils
